GALLERY 135: ANHINGA
The Anhinga is an interesting species of bird, readily photographed in Florida. Probably the best location to photograph this species is Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park. The bird has many unique features, but is probably best known for its fishing behavior. First, fish are speared with the sharp beak. After immobilizing the fish on the beak for a time, the Anhinga toss the fish into the air catching it head end first for the swallow.
