GALLERY 141: GREAT BLUE HERON
The Great Blue Heron is one of the most widely recognized wader birds. They can be photographed in many locations in North America, although they seem to be the most approachable in Florida. The Venice Rookery is probably one of the best known locations for flight and nest building images of these birds while the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine provides excellent photography opportunities for birds on the nest and chicks.
