GALLERY 156: WOOD STORK
The Wood Stork is an iconic bird species representing the Everglades area and south Florida in general. Every year for the last five, I have made a trip to Florida in the winter. During past trips I would occasionally see a wood stork and rarely had any opportunities for photographs. The trip of 2004 produced Wood Storks at almost every location, and they were readily photographed. I hope this is a sign that they are thriving and their numbers are steady or increasing.
