GALLERY 205: BURROWING OWLS 2014
Burrowing Owls in western Minnesota, the Dakatos and other western states take up residence in holes made by Prairie dogs. In Florida, in the sandy soil, owls dig their own burrows and can be easily found in vacant lots in Cape Coral and also on Marco Island. I have photographed adult owls a number of times but in 2014 the goal was to get some photographs of owlets. I was successful over Memorial Day weekend and this shows my favorite Burrowing Owl photographs made on Marco Island.
